I had always thought that I was good with computer and knew my way round; as my parents will always ask me to show them how to do things they know how to do.
After today, I felt ICT incompetent, as we were introduced
to new programs some of them were hard to use. I am used to picking things up
rather quickly so when I struggle I get frustrated, I also like to work things
out for myself so I then fully understand the technology from making my own
discoveries.

Introduction to ICT.
Today I was introduced to useful websites and resources to help with teaching. The website that we first got introduced to in class was Internet detective, it tells you about researching online and how to find out if the information is correct or false. It also shows you how to find out information about the author, publisher, etc for if you want to reference that website.
Hot Potatoes program can help you create quizzes, word searches, etc. It is simple and easy to use which is great, and for teachers sometimes we don’t have hours to create something interactive to do in a lesson, so this tool is perfect as it does all the hard work in a short amount of time.
Wordle is great to give to students for buzz words, research, and terminology, exam revision, etc. Wordle arranges the words into an image that can be costumed. Both of these programs you can download and use online so they are both portable programs. Below are the links for all of these programs I have talked about.
